Tutorial

After launching the game, we recommand playing the tutorial. For the rest of the guide, we’ll assume that you know the basics of the game such as how to move or how to interact with objects.

Guide

Part 1 - Discovering

In Voices of the Void, you play as a researcher looking for signals from space. You will have to gather signals, process them, calibrate the satellites, make sure that radars are working correctly, reboot servers, get data from the satellites, clean the base, maintain the power generators, take care of yourself, send the data for money, and watch out for anything strange. Sounds complicated ? Trust me, it is far more difficult that what you think already. But no worries, we’re here to help.

When you launch a new game, you will find yourself at the entrance of the sector. Grab your belongings and wollow the signs to your base. The forest might look scary, but there realy is nothing to worry about. You can use your flashlignt by pressing F . One you’re at the base, you can settle. No tasks are planned on the first day, so you can take advantage of the time you have to clean up the place a bit and tidy up the base.

Part 2 - Tasks

Each day, Bao will send you a E-mail (that you can check on the computer) will some tasks that you need to complete :

  1. Gathering signals. To gather signals, you need to use the Cumputer Table (not to be confused with the computer or main computer). Theoritically, you should have understood how it works during the Tutorial. On the third screen, before exporting the signal on a drive, we recommand sendigng it to the computer so you can access it later. One done, export the signal on a drive and put it in a Drive box.

  2. Satellite dishes. To get the data from the satellites dishes, look which stallites’ data is asked by Bao. You can note their names on a sheet of paper or in a notepad (these items can be found in drawers scattered around the base or bought via the computer). to avoid getting lost in the woods, you can look up where the satellites are located on the map above the Sonar or on the below map :

  1. Daily reels. In hte main room, to the right, you can find a machine with two Data tapes. Check their status by looking at the button in the center. Each day, data is recorded passively. You need to wait until both reels are full, put them in a Data tape case and close it with the lid. One done, put the case in the Drone sack. Each day, the drone will bring two new Data tapes, a ase and a lid.

[!NOTE] This task is not mandatory, but it rewards you with some useful Points.

Part 3 - Maintenance

Satellite calibration

Over time, satellites will lose in precision, slowing down the download speed. To fix this, go in the Server Room on the Command Panel and type sv.calall to re-calibrate all satellites dishes. You can also calibrate a specific satellite by typing sv.cal [NAME]. The sv.calch command list the calibration value of each staellite dish.

Server status

You will need to take care of your servers if you want everything to go as fast as possible. There are 30 servers located in the Server Room of the Alpha base, and each satellite also has a server. Thye can go randomy go down, so you need to repair them. To repair a server, you need to complete a task by interacting with it. You can also use server repair kits to repair them instantly.

[!WARNING] If a Satellite server is down, it will slow down the dowloading procedure.

If a Base server is down, it will make signal processing (signal enhancing) slower.
